Consumers worldwide are increasing the demand for more natural and organic food options. Ireland-based Kerry Taste and Nutrition is meeting the market with innovative solutions across its global locations- including a state-of-the-art facility in Rome, Georgia.
Shortly after acquiring the facility in Rome, Kerry announced a $125 million 360,000 square-foot expansion to double the production capacity. This investment was the company’s most significant capital expenditure and included renewable electricity and other sustainability initiatives that are core to their business values.
“The consumer-led food revolution and the world’s environmental challenges are driving accelerated change and reshaping the entire food industry. World-class facilities, such as this one in Georgia, combined with our technology portfolio and fantastic people, allow us to co-create with our customers to produce tasty and nutritious food products that meet changing consumer demand,” said Gerry Behan, CEO of Kerry Taste and Nutrition, in a release for the announcement.
The newly upgraded facility opened this past March to provide integrated taste and nutrition solutions to meet the demand for poultry, seafood, and alternative protein markets across the United States and Canada.
