Q1 2026 - A Strong Opening to the New Year
Georgia Power’s Economic Development team started 2026 with strong momentum, helping companies relocate or expand in Georgia and deliver more than 3,200 jobs and $3 billion in capital investment despite a cooling national economy.
Q1 marked our best first quarter for jobs and capital investment since 2023. Project activity remains above average, reflecting Georgia’s competitiveness for large-scale, energy intensive manufacturing. The quarter featured a diverse mix of investments, spanning biopharma, transportation equipment manufacturing, data centers, fintech, warehousing, aerospace, and health technology.
In February, Business Facilities magazine named Georgia Power a Top Utility in Economic Development for the fifth consecutive year, recognizing the role energy availability, grid investments, and data-driven site support play in helping communities compete for jobs and capital investment.
