Elyse Davis serves as Statewide Community Development Manager. In her role, Elyse leads the team that is responsible for the location, expansion, and retention of companies in Georgia. Elyse and her team work hand-in-hand with Georgia Power’s research, engineering, workforce development, and marketing teams to ensure Georgia businesses and communities have what they need to thrive.

Before joining Georgia Power Community & Economic Development team in 2014 as the Northwest Georgia Region Community Development Manager, Elyse was the lead executive of community and economic development organizations in Georgia and North Carolina for over twenty-five years. During that time, she assisted community and economic development organizations, as well as public officials, in developing job growth strategies, locating new businesses, and building high-performance teams in volunteer boards and staff.

Elyse is a member of the Georgia Economic Developer’s Association, Southeastern Economic Development Council, Georgia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, and American Chamber of Commerce Executives Association where she maintains her Certified Chamber Executive designation. Elyse serves on the GMA Georgia Cities Foundation Board and is a graduate of Leadership Georgia, Leadership North Carolina, and a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.

Elyse holds an associate degree in business administration from Shorter University and has completed certifications from the Georgia Tech Basic Economic Development Course, University of Oklahoma Economic Development Institute, and the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management. She served as an instructor with the United States Chamber of Commerce’s Southeast (UGA - Athens) Institute for Organization Management where she also served as board chair. Since 2014 Elyse has provided training at the Georgia Academy for Economic Development, as well as several numerous local leadership and economic development training programs across Georgia.
